Pisces Adonis | I know in the old days they used Astrolabes and mathematical tools as well as Telescopes. What do modern Professional Astrologers use besides software today? |
Kerosene | Interesting topic! I would like to know too. I've met an astrologer before. They just used some software. Nothing interesting... |
suireen | I think I saw this in one show.. Storage Wars, Pawn Stars..? Or was it in National Geographic channel..Or something idk. But it was a device to know what position the planets are in, it looks like a sun dial, but when you turn the device, the planets move. It was pretty cool, and when I saw it I thought it was probably related to astrology and how they knew the planet's position. Well, only the 9 planets move doesn't include the sun. |

peregrine | close! it was pre microsoft word. the font isn't times new roman or arial... also it used to be printed on paper with dots at the sides... u know before they figured out how to make the paper roll smoothly. i think he uses it because it was around $5000 to buy at the time. it read tables differently compared to astro.com but said the same thing. lotsa 0's and 1's... |
hippichick | I used, back in the day, when I was learning, to cast my own charts. I still relied upon charts and books for planetary and house degrees, etc. but casting a chart by hand is amazing. You can feel, especially us sensitive Pisces, the chart and know the person better~ |
somethingexcellent | I've always dreamt of some room where you could turn a big ol' dial or something and it'd activate gears and pulleys and **** and omg large rings with discs representing a planet will move around the ceiling with signs painted on the dome-y walls and you could SEE how the planets would move. Sigh sgiiiihhhhhggh |

One of my goals this year is to create my Natal Chart manually by hand on graphing paper . quote: Originally posted by somethingexcellent:I've always dreamt of some room where you could turn a big ol' dial or something and it'd activate gears and pulleys and **** and omg large rings with discs representing a planet will move around the ceiling with signs painted on the dome-y walls and you could SEE how the planets would move. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME . Maybe when I become rich I'll create a room like that and donate it to an Astrology Federation !!! |
lalalinda | Before software an Astrologer's "Bible" was her Ephemeris, you also needed a Table of Houses, and an Atlas (for latitude and longitude) to draw up a chart.------------------ "For all those who believe, expect a miracle.” Linda Goodman 1925-1995 |
